The 5th title is in the reckoning as ‘4 times champions’ Under 19 boys of team India boys lock horns against the Bangladeshi counterpart at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, South Africa this Sunday on 9th Feb 2020 #U19CWC
In the unbeaten streak of the journey of the campaign so far, (2020 Under 19 World Cup), the Indian boys have defeated Sri Lanka, Japan New Zealand in the Group Stages and Australia and Pakistan in Quarter Final and Semi Finals respectively.
The Semi Finals against the arch rivals was a completely one sided affair as India dominated Pakistan all hands down. The bowling trio of Kartik Tyagi, Ravi Bishnoi and Sushant Mishra broke the confidence of the Pakistan batsman and didn’t allow them to settle down resulting into only 172 runs on the board. Indian boys, in reply, didn’t allow the scorers to disturb the wicket column as the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyansh Saxena sealed their fate with an unbeaten partnership of 176 runs. The enigmatic south paw Jaiswal guided India to the victory with a six, got to his century, while Divyansh scored a well guided 59 runs. Only the likes of Virender Sehwag or Rohit Sharma could have thought of hitting a six to reach to the century.
The captain Priyam Garg is all set to join the elite club of the former U19 winning captains – Mohammed Kaif ( 2000), Virat Kohli (2008), Unmukut Chand (2012) and Prithvi Shaw ( 2018) on this Super Sunday.
Back home in India everyone is eager to hear “The News from the center is India clinches the Under 19 Title for the 5th time”.
